Our Projects
Projects Launching during the 2023-2024 School Year
Clark County Black & Hispanic Achievers
Clark County Equity Coalition in joint partnership with Clark County Public Schools (CCPS) are proud to launch its very own Clark County Black and Hispanic Achievers Program.
The Black and Hispanic Achievers program has been created to instill and build confidence in our rising youth, while preparing them for college and career readiness. Currently, we are looking to offer the following specialized clusters: medical, IT, entrepreneurship, education, and government/public sector. In addition to the specialized and general clusters, there are two community service projects, a trip to Washington DC during spring break, and an end of the year banquet planned.
Proactive Mental Health Support
Proactively partnering with the Clark County Public Schools to provide external, qualified resources for the teachers and staff to support our children struggling with various mental health needs. How to identify mental health needs vs. behavioral issues, and coping skills for providing safe, accountable spaces.
Assist in providing access, through qualified, licensed practitioners, to tools and training for Trauma Informed care within the school system, while incorporating tips for self-care for teachers and staff.
Senior Interpreter Co-Op
Transformative Opportunity! We are very excited about the Clark County Senior Interpreter Co-Op, and our partnership with InterSys, LLC, Clark County Public Schools - Kentucky and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. We will run two cohorts of school seniors, one in the Fall and one in the Spring. The students will learn the awesome skill of medical interpretation. They will complete the program during the school year, with two trips to University of Kentucky Healthcare to shadow a professional medical interpreter and a career day visit to speak with medical professionals in various roles and once they graduate, they will receive the certificate of completion from InterSyss, LLC. We will host a cohort of students in the Fall and in the Spring. We are excited about the opportunities this will open for these students!
